McTimoney

“After having a broken wrist wired back together, Kay with McTimoney, was able to give me more freedom of movement with the joint than I achieved through physiotherapy.”  H G

"I am a patient of Kay’s for approximately 20 years, she has treated me for various problems i.e. back, neck shoulders, feet etc. Kay is an excellent Chiropractor and has helped me at all times – I dread to think to whom I would turn to if she was not around."  M W

McTimoney and Brain Gym®

“I have been receiving McTimoney treatment from Kay McCarroll for about last 10 years, ever since I first went to her for relief from sciatic pain, having read an article about her in a health magazine. That first treatment session totally relieved my pain and since then I have a 2-monthly basis treatment, to keep my body aligned, as I spend much of my time at a desk, writing notes on the computer. Kay is an extremely professional, experienced, conscientious, empathetic practitioner, who has used her kinesiology and psychotherapy expertise on me – when relevant – to significant effect. Kay has a gentle but firm touch. She also suggested Brain Gym when, as a mature student, I was studying for my exams as a Nutrition Practitioner and I found the exercise very beneficial. As a practising Nutrition Practitioner and Iridologist, since 2000, I recommend McTimoney and Kay to a large number of my patients, from who I have very positive feedback. I have also recommended Kay and Brain Gym for certain child patients with learning problems."  H J

This holistic method can have a beneficial effect on a wide range of conditions as well as neck and back pain.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic looks at posture and alignment and how it affects wellbeing, movement and ease of function in daily life. Our day-to-day activities, poor posture, accidents and illness may cause discomfort, stiffness and inhibition of natural movement.

At Hendon Natural Health Centre we use the McTimoney Technique of Chiropractic

It is the gentleness of the technique and the treatment of the whole body that distinguishes the McTimoney method from other manipulative therapies.

The McTimoney Method of Chiropractic is named after its originator John McTimoney who developed this gentle, whole body approach from existing Chiropractic techniques. For over 45 years people all over the country have been coming for treatment.

A survey revealed that 89% of people undergoing McTimoney Chiro
practic are very or extremely satisfied with their treatment (MCA, Patient Survey, 2004).

What will happen on your first consultation?

Your Chiropractor will discuss what your objectives for treatment are. A full body alignment evaluation and session will follow.

How many consultations?

This depends on many factors that include:

  1.   How long you have had symptoms

  2.   How old you are and your general health

  3.   Other life circumstances

Individual treatment plans are created according to the needs and objectives of the client.

Who can be treated?

This gentle process is suitable for most people. Contact your local Chiropractor to discuss your situation.

The consultation process is designed to indicate if it is appropriate to refer someone for medical screening.

Chiropractic does not involve the use of drugs or surgery.  It originated in 1895 in the USA and is one of the largest healthcare professions in the world.
